AMTS 3.0      Actual Design


3.1  The design is to be completed enough for the full construction of the mold. Noted on the designs will be the customer”s identification and should use the following design notes for a routine guideline when designing molds for Argo Mold. The following information should be included in the design check list:

 

3.1.1  Machine tie bars must be shown and labeled on cover and ejector plan view.

3.1.2  Confirm with Argo Mold on how mold will be loaded in the machine.

3.1.3  Is the locating ring correct?

3.1.4  Is machine nozzle spherical radiuses correct?

3.1.5  Is the clamp plates the proper size and thickness?

3.1.6  Are all the proper holes in the clamp plates, eye bolt holes, mounting holes, etc.?

3.1.7  Do holes have enough clearance for washers and impact drivers?

3.1.8  Holes must be clear of fittings, hoses, receptacles, etc.

3.1.9  If cylinders are located on top and bottom. The mold designer should confirm that Argo Mold has enough room overhead to load mold.

3.1.10  Molds being built for 1500 ton and larger will be designed with proper bolster plates.
